Bumble had a "modest budget" at the time, Wolfe Herd said in a MasterClass course released on Thursday. Instead of traditional marketing campaigns, Wolfe Herd put together a series of "crazy hacks" to drum up interest in her Austin, Texas-based startup, she said. Wolfe Herd used a similar tactic with college fraternities, dropping off pizza with branded bumblebee stickers slapped onto the cardboard boxes. For Wolfe Herd, the momentum was validating. Seven years after launching the app, Wolfe Herd became the youngest female founder in history to take a company public.

(Perez also seems aware that his angular cheekbones and roguish swagger make him resemble a young Al Pacino.) Their centerpiece sex scene is intimately staged with Galitzine tracing Perez with his fingertips as though his character wants to remember the moment forever. The D.C. sequences are snappy, freshened-up versions of the banter we’ve long seen on TV. Aqua's chart-topping 1997 hit "Barbie Girl" called the doll a "blond bimbo" and was full of innuendos. "Barbie Girl" is now being revived in Greta Gerwig's film with a performance by Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice. But no one really thought that the tongue-in-cheek song could have been written by Mattel, Lobel wrote. Years later, Mattel even bought the rights to the song from Aqua, Lobel wrote. The song is now making a comeback, in a way, thanks to Greta Gerwig's "Barbie" film, which is hitting cinemas this Friday.

‘Julie & Julia’ (July 31)Julia Child was an easy figure to impersonate but perhaps not so simple to inhabit. The film focuses on Gardner’s period of homelessness and the sacrifices he made while completing an unpaid internship at a prestigious firm. It’s a formulaic piece of work but a nevertheless affecting one. ‘Stepmom’ (July 31)The “Home Alone” director Chris Columbus continued the softening of his touch that began with “Mrs. Julia Roberts plays the title character, a fashion photographer who is dating, and then marries, a much older, divorced father (Ed Harris).

A federal judge Tuesday granted writer E. Jean Carroll's request to amend her original defamation lawsuit against former President Donald Trump to include comments he made about her in a CNN town hall last month. The judge's decision was made public shortly after Trump pleaded not guilty to federal criminal charges during a historic arraignment in Miami. Carroll sought to amend her lawsuit shortly after Trump unloaded a barrage of disparaging remarks about her during a live town hall on CNN on May 10. She filed a civil defamation lawsuit against him in 2019, and then filed a second civil lawsuit against him in 2022 that also included a charge of battery. Less than two weeks after the CNN town hall, Carroll's lawyers asked Judge Kaplan to let her amend her original civil complaint to include Trump's most recent comments, arguing that "the facts and circumstances have changed."

Trump's lawyers argued the $2 million in damages awarded to Carroll are "grossly excessive under applicable case law." Carroll's attorney in a statement scoffed at Trump's argument, and noted the jury unanimously found he sexually abused Carroll. "Trump now argues that, even if he did those things, Ms. Carroll doesn't deserve the $5 million in damages that the jury awarded," said Carroll's lawyer, Robbie Kaplan. Carroll is seeking no less than $10 million from Trump in the pending lawsuit. Trump during the town hall said he did not sexually abuse Carroll and has no idea who Carroll was.

[1/2] Former U.S. President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump reacts after arriving at Aberdeen International Airport in Aberdeen, Scotland, Britain May 1, 2023. "That was a rigged election," Trump said, adding that anyone who thought otherwise was "stupid." Trump and Collins frequently spoke over each other with Collins challenging a number of the former president's false claims. "It was classic Trump - it was Donald Trump from 2015 right up until now: the Big Lie, the outrageous style, demeaning individuals, mocking them," said Rothenberg, senior editor at the Inside Elections newsletter. New Hampshire is an early nominating state that could prove critical in Trump's bid to win the November 2024 election.
A day after a jury found Trump sexually violated E. Jean Carroll, he mocked her as a "whack job" on CNN. CNN let Trump try to re-victimize his own sex-assault victim in front of millions, victim advocates said. Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who has said she is a survivor of sexual assault, slammed CNN's town hall with Trump as "shameful." "As a sexual assault survivor I'm disgusted with @CNN," tweeted @Irishrygirl. She explained how for many survivors of sexual assault the "pain" that comes with being disbelieved "is deeply harmful over and above the harms of sexual assault itself."
Trump continued to attack columnist E. Jean Carroll during a nationally televised town hall. Just a day before, Carroll partially won her federal civil case against Trump. Trump went on to suggest that Carroll, who vividly recounted her allegation on the witness stand, was overly promiscuous. I don't know if she was married then or not. I feel sorry for you John Johnson," Trump said to a chorus of laughter.
